Srinagar, Dec 11 (KNO) : APHC spokesman has strongly condemned the killing of an innocent unarmed woman in force’s firing and paid rich tributes to three armed youth killed in an encounter at Handwara stated that every lane of Kashmir has witnessed innocent killing men, women, elderly and youth only for the sacred cause of Kashmir’s freedom struggle. He said the process of killing innocent is continue even today as seen in the killing of an civilian woman Misra Begum of Handwara who was made a soft target and killed by the forces. The APHC spokesman said that it is because of the unbridled powers given to the forces in Kashmir to kill anybody they wish to as such innocent citizens are becoming soft targets, which is highly condemnable. Paying rich tributes to Misra Begum of Handwara, the APHC spokesman expressed solidarity with her family and also prayed for the immediate recovery of those who were injured in the force’s action there. The spokesman said that it was because of the lingering Kashmir dispute since past 70 years, killing innocent citizens has been a routine affair as forces have been given a free hand to kill anyone at their will. He said under a well planned conspiracy and on the basis of military might, New Delhi is resorting to genocide of Kashmiris in a systematic manner. The APHC spokesman said unless New Delhi stops treating dealing with Kashmir militarily, killings, human rights violations and bloodshed will continue and the region will continue to suffer. The spokesman said it was very unfortunate that New Delhi instead of accepting the ground realities in Kashmir continues to use its military power to crush the genuine dissent and to choke all means of peaceful protests. The spokesman said that in the past all such efforts failed and no such effort will bear fruit in future too. Meanwhile, the APHC spokesman strongly condemned the killing of two Bank guards Mushtaq Ahmed and Tariq Ahmed in an attack on their vehicle at Keller Shopian terming the incident as very unfortunate and condemnable. The spokesman expressed solidarity and sympathy with the families of bereaved youth. The spokesman strongly condemned the continuous house detention of APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq thereby barring him from carrying out his social, religious and political activities, and the arrest of JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik and other resistance leader that include Mukhtar Ahmad Waza at Sadar Police Station, Farooq Ahmed Saudagar, Shabir Ahmed, Mustaq Ahmed, Zahoor Ahmed Bhat, Bashir Kashmiri, Ghulam Muhammad Dar and the house detention of dozens of other leaders stating that these repressive measures can’t break the resolve of the pro-freedom leadership. The arrest and detention of resistance leaders is a political vendetta which deserves all forms of condemnation.(KNO)
